About Coach Russ Mayo
Russ started working at Pleasant Grove High School in August of 2001 as a full time substitute for the Radio Broadcasting classes. He was offered a full time job in August of 2003. Russ has also been an adjunct faculty member of UVU in their Digital Media Department since 2004. He started as head coach of the Girl's and Boy's tennis teams in the 2003-2004 school year. He coached the girl's until 2008 when he stepped down to coach the Pleasant Grove Cross Country team. He continues to help coach the boy's tennis team. After a four year break from girl's tennis he was asked to return as head coach and is excited to be back.
Russ Mayo graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1998. He participated as a member on the Pleasant Grove Tennis, Basketball, Track, and Cross Country teams. He was the student body artist and President of KPGR Radio Station.
Russ currently teaches courses in Radio Broadcasting, Digital Media, and Television Broadcasting at Pleasant Grove High School. He has been awarded the Golden Apple Award from Alpine School District two time since he began teaching. His hobbies include Art, Animation, Cinematography, and Music. About Coach Emily Eddington
Started coaching at Pleasant Grove High School in August of 2014. Emily quickly formed wonderful relationships with the Lady Viking's tennis team. She has a great knowledge of the game. She is very optimistic about the future of our girls. Her coaching style drives players to get better and encourages them to enjoy each moment on the court. She helps calm nerves and she give great insight on key elements of the game. She has had four children play for the Pleasant Grove High School Tennis team and has been a great support for the program throughout the years. It is a privilege to have Emily as part of Pleasant Grove High School's coaching staff.
